Caffè Elena is one of the city’s most historic bars. Its history dates back 130 years, and it has always been a place for meetings and cultural debates. The establishment has retained its old style and is very charming. It is said that at the time of the bar’s opening (in 1894), it was used by Giuseppe Carpano as a laboratory to create what is now one of the city’s most famous alcoholic beverages, vermouth.
