. FIRST SECTION – What is Fiorile and why is so special
Fiorile โ Orti & Fiori in Mostra is a cultural and horticultural event dedicated to the world of greenery, seasonality, and biodiversity.
Rooted in the tradition of Moncalieriโs historic market, it has evolved into a twice-yearly eventโheld in spring and autumnโthat combines horticultural displays, culture, and the promotion of the local area.
The event is organized by the City of Moncalieriโs Department of Culture in partnership with the Giardino Forbito Association, which has contributed to cultural planning and the direction of interdisciplinary content since 2019.
Each edition highlights:
- nursery owners and agricultural producers selected for quality and seasonality
- nature-inspired artisans and creatives
- cultural gatherings and presentations
- workshops on biodiversity and pollinators
- art, music, and opportunities for deeper insight
Fiorile is an open space where greenery becomes a story, an experience, and a connection.

A UNIQUE SETTING: THE ROSE GARDEN

Fiorile takes place in the Rose Garden of the Royal Castle of Moncalieri, a landmark site representing Piedmontโs historical and landscape heritage.
For an entire weekend, the garden and its arcades come alive with seasonal displays, curated exhibitors, and the “Angolo dei Saperi e dei Sapori” (Corner of Knowledge and Flavors), guiding visitors on a journey that blends nature and culture.
Its connection to the Po Protected Areas network and the Turin Hills reinforces the eventโs identity within the UNESCO MAB Reserve.
The goal is simple and concrete:
– to educate about biodiversity
– to support local production
– to encourage mindful engagement with historical spaces
– to foster a renewed focus on the environment

. THIRD SECTION – Upcoming event: flowers, outdoor activities, music, and much more.
Hosted in the spectacular Rose Garden of the Royal Castle of Moncalieri, the event will open with the unveiling of two new flowerbeds featuring native chrysanthemums. The project stems from a collaboration with the Venaria Gardeners and showcases blooms from the historic local grower Floricoltura Cargnino, accompanied by a presentation from Alessia Bellone, Director of the Venaria Gardeners’ School.
The gardenโs beauty will be set to the music of the Moncalieri Jazz Festivalโcurated by Maestro Ugo Violaโfeaturing two concerts as part of the “Jazz a Corte” and “Notte Nera del Jazz” programs, alongside other musical interludes throughout the weekend.
The program offers a rich array of cultural and participatory activities:
- The Festival of Lights (Diwali): In collaboration with the Italian Hindu Union (Sanatana Dharma Samgha), the central Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II will host the creation of a colorful chrysanthemum-petal mandala around the Neptune Fountain on October 24th; at dusk, small floating lights will be placed upon the water.
- Art and creativity: In the “Spazio dellโArte” (Art Space), painter Curtis Sheeran will lead a botanical watercolor workshop open to all ages and skill levels. Participants will create their own chrysanthemum illustration as a keepsake, starting from a pre-sketched outline.
- Immersive walks and culinary delights: A partnership with the “Cammino delle Colline Torinesi” (Turin Hills Trail) and Agricampus will guide visitors along trails and paths to the Floricoltura Cargnino greenhouses, where they can admire the blooms in full splendor while enjoying music and refreshments.
Rounding out the eventโs offerings will be the classic market featuring plants and artisanal products related to gardening and food and wine, alongside talks, workshops, biodiversity activities for adults and children (in collaboration with Beesรน and Impollinatori Metropolitani), walks, and entertainment spread throughout the venue.
