A scenic lake with water lilies and views

The Pistono lake is located in the municipality of Montalto Dora, at the foot of the hills of the Ivrea morainic amphitheatre. It is a glacial lake formed during the last Ice Age and stands out as one of the most characteristic lakes in Canavese thanks to its compact shape and natural setting.

Over time, the lake has become well known for its water lilies and for the iconic wooden pier stretching over the water, one of the most photographed spots in the area. This feature gives the lake a strong visual identity.

Today, Lago di Pistono is a popular destination for walks and relaxation. The surrounding landscape, together with the nearby village and castle, creates a charming and well-rounded experience.
