What to do in 72 hours!
With three days available, not only can you explore most of the historic center and its museums, but you’ll also have the chance to visit some equally important and historic attractions located just outside the city center. Let’s check out what I’ve planned for you!
During these three days in Turin, you’ll get to admire the main museums in the historic center (Egyptian Museum, Mole Antonelliana, Royal Museums, RAI Museum, Palazzo Madama, and the Natural Science Museum), stroll through the main shopping streets (Via Roma, Via Po, and Via Lagrange), enjoy traditional Piedmontese cuisine, and visit attractions outside the city center (Basilica of Superga and the Reggia of Venaria).
Let’s get started!

Day one
from 08.30 AM to 06.00 PM
- 08.30 AM – 09.00 AM: Starting from Torino Porta Nuova station, head towards the Egyptian Museum via Via Lagrange. (See the road)
- 09.00 AM – 11.00 AM: Spend about 2h exploring the Egyptian Museum. I recommend purchasing the “Turin Piedmont Card 3 days” to visit all the main museums with a single pass!
- 11.00 AM – 11.30 AM: Then, walk from the museum to the Church of Gran Madre di Dio. (See the road)
- 11.30 AM – 11.45 AM: Spend about 15min exploring the Church.
- 11.45 AM – 12.30 AM: From there, make your way up to the panoramic terrace of Monte dei Cappuccini for a stunning view. (See the road)
- 12.30 AM – 01.30 PM:
We’ve reached the middle of the day, and as with any great outing, a lunch break is essential. Discover the best options for a lunch close to the Gran Madre church and Piazza Vittorio!

- 01.30 PM – 02.00 PM:Â Next, walk from Gran Madre to the Museum of Natural Sciences. (See the road)
- 02.00 PM – 03.00 PM: Spend about 1h exploring the museum. Tuesday CLOSE!
- 03.00 PM – 03.15 PM:Â From the Museum of Natural Sciences, head over to the Mole Antonelliana. (See the road)Â I recommend purchasing the “Turin Piedmont Card 3 days” to visit all the main museums with a single pass!
- 03.15 PM – 04.30 PM: Visit the Mole Antonelliana “Cinema Museum” and take the elevator to the top of the dome for an incredible view. Tuesday CLOSE!
- 04.30 PM – 05.45 PM: Afterward, walk from the Mole Antonelliana to Piazza Castello for a nice afternoon snack. I recommend “Bar Baratti e Milano” and Caffè Mulassano“. (See the road)
- 05.45 PM – 06.00 PM:Â Finally, take a leisurely walk back from Piazza Castello to Torino Porta Nuova station. (See the road)
Day two
from 08.30 AM to 06.00 PM
- 08.30 AM – 09.45 AM: Departure from Torino Porta Nuova station heading to the Venaria Reale Palace. How to get there: (See the road).
Public transport GTT, Line 11 (stop “Porta Nuova” –> stop “Stazione Venaria”) approximately 1 hour. - 10.00 AM – 12.30 AM: Visit the Reggia of Venaria and it’s gardens! I recommend purchasing the “Turin Piedmont Card 3 days” to visit all the main museums with a single pass! Monday CLOSE!
- 12.30 AM – 01.30 PM:Â
We’ve reached the middle of the day, and as with any great outing, a lunch break is essential. We are in the centre of Venaria! There are so many places to choose from, depending on what you’re in the mood for!

- 01.30 PM – 03.00 PM:Â Return to Turin with Bus 11 (stop “Stazione Venaria (direction Torino)” –> stop “Corte D’Appello”) approximately 1 hour. (See the road)
- 03.00 PM – 03.15 PM:Â Walk from the bus stop to Turin Cathedral. (See the road).
- 03.15 PM – 04.00 PM: Climb the cathedral’s bell tower to enjoy a view of the historic center. (IMPORTANT: The bell tower is NOT always open, and there are no predefined opening and closing periods. I hope it’s open during your visit so you can go up, but if it’s not, I recommend taking a couple of photos of the Duomo Square, which is definitely worth it, and then continuing on to Palazzo Madama).
- 04.00 PM – 04.15 PM:Â Walk from the cathedral to Palazzo Madama. (See the road)

- 05.30 PM – 06.00 PM:Â Return to Porta Nuova. (See the road)
Day three
from 08.30 AM to 06.30 PM
- 08.30 AM – 09.00 AM:Â Departure from Torino Porta Nuova, walking towards the Royal Museums. (See the road)
- 09.00 AM – 11.30 AM: Complete visit to the Royal Museums. I recommend purchasing the “Turin Piedmont Card 3 days” to visit all the main museums with a single pass! Wednesday CLOSE!
- 11.30 AM – 11.45 AM:Â Afterward, walk to the “Po” bus stop (Direction Sassi – Superga) on Via Verdi and take bus 68. (See the road)
- 11.45 AM – 12.10 AM:Â Get off the bus at the “Sassi” stop.
- 12.10 AM – 12.20 AM:Â Walk to the “cremagliera” station and purchase a ticket. (See the road)
- 12.20 AM – 12.45 AM:Â Take the ride up and arrive at the Basilica of Superga.
- 01.00 PM – 02.15 PM:Â

- 03.30 PM – 03.40 PM:Â Return to the “cremagliera” station for the descent. (See the road)
- 03.40 PM – 04.00 PM:Â Walk to the bus stop “Sassi” and take bus 68 towards “Po.” (See the road)
- 04.00 PM – 04.20 PM:Â Get off at the “Po” stop after around 15 minutes.
- 04.20 PM – 04.30 PM:Â Head on foot to the RAI Museum. (See the road)
- 04.30 PM – 05.15 PM: Visit the RAI Museum (free entry). Tuesday CLOSE!
- 05.15 PM – 05.30 PM:Â Walk and visit “Carlo Emanuele II” Square. (See the road)
- 05.30 PM – 06.00 PM: Take a coffee/snack break. I suggest to you Trivè Time Bar where you can enjoy a great aperitivo with a spritz or even a sweet break with a cappuccino.
- 06.00 PM – 06.30 PM:Â Finally, return to Porta Nuova. (See the road)
Getting around in Turin
An important distinction to make depends on the mode of transportation you’ll use to arrive in the city… because depending on the means of transportation you use to arrive, there will be different ways to reach the city center.
