A lake of nature, history and mystery

The Bertignano lake is located in the hills between Canavese and the Biella area, within the territory of Viverone. It is a glacial lake formed during the last Ice Age within the Ivrea morainic amphitheatre. Smaller and more secluded than nearby Lake Viverone, it stands out for its peaceful atmosphere and well-preserved natural environment.
Throughout history, the lake has been the site of important archaeological discoveries. The most famous is the so-called “Sword of Bertignano”, a medieval artifact found in its waters and now preserved at the Museo Nazionale del Bargello. This discovery has added a layer of mystery and fascination to the lake.
Today, Lago di Bertignano is an ideal destination for those seeking tranquility and a close connection with nature. Surrounded by woods and hills, it offers a quiet and authentic experience.
