Langhe

Without going into too much detail, I’d like to give you a brief introduction to the Langhe, which became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2014!

We are in the southern part of Piedmont, specifically between the provinces of Cuneo and Asti.

One of the most important cities in this area is undoubtedly Alba (called the city of 100 towers because between 1300 and 1500 it was dominated by over 100 medieval towers), which is world-famous for its White Truffle. 

Other notable towns include Bra (famous for its Bra sausage) and Barolo (known for its red wine, called “the red wine par excellence”). However, Barolo is not the only type of wine produced here; thanks to the great variety of soil types (more or less clayey, more or less exposed to the sun, higher or lower depending on whether they are on the top of a hill or in the plains), Piedmont is also famous for Barbera, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Spumante d'Asti, and many more! This is all thanks to the over 10,000 hectares of land dedicated to vineyards. 

In addition to its cuisine, the Langhe will also make you fall in love with the many medieval structures in the area. Each hill and village has its own ancient history, reflected in old architectures (such as castles and walls) that have been meticulously preserved in their full splendor!

Roero

Historical note! Around 2 million years ago, the territory of Langhe and Roero was a single plateau located between the present-day areas of Bra and Carmagnola. Over the centuries, soil erosion caused the Tanaro River, about 200,000 years ago, to divide this land, creating what are now known as the Langhe and Roero territories.

Thanks to this land, which has changed its shape several times over the millennia, the region offers unforgettable landscapes, a variety of food and wine, and also a wide range of tours... from nature hikes and explorations of ancient villages to wine tastings and culinary experiences.

Monferrato

For centuries, Monferrato was a place where wars for control of the territory were fought, and foreign invaders and outsiders were driven away.
