Here are some useful tips for arriving prepared at the museum:

  1. Plan your visit in advance; the earlier you do it, the more options you'll have for choosing the day and time slot. During weekends, there will be more people, but there's always a limited number of visitors for each time slot to avoid endless queues.
  2. Book your tours online and download your ticket to your phone to skip the lines at the ticket office.
  3. If you're not staying in accommodation near the monument, check public transportation options in advance and how long it takes to reach there. Find your perfect stay near the Egyptian museum.
  4. Dress comfortably and in layers so you can adapt to different temperatures. On-site, there is the possibility to leave bags, jackets, and sweatshirts in dedicated lockers of various sizes for a nominal fee. (IMPORTANT: all backpacks and bags larger than 40x30x15 must be mandatory stored in the lockers)

Egyptian Museum curiosities

  1. The Egyptian Museum is the first museum in the world entirely dedicated to Egyptian civilization.
  2. One of the most important books in the museum is "The Book of the Dead" (dating back to around 330 BC), in which the Egyptians explained the passages that the deceased would have to face to reach the afterlife.
  3. The Egyptian Museum is said to be a meeting place between black and white magic (a meeting between good and evil) due to the custody of objects with strong energetic influences.
  4. The collection of inestimable value has been valued and praised by the whole world since the early nineteenth century. So much so that a French magazine described Turin and its museum as "the road to Memphis and Thebes."
