48 hours in Turin are enough to get a sense of what’s beautiful in the historic center while also fitting in a short trip just a few kilometers outside the city. But you really need to know how to plan your days and get around; otherwise, you risk wasting precious time!

Here’s a 48-hour travel plan that lets you enjoy the main museums in the city center (Royal Museums, Egyptian Museum, Palazzo Madama, and the Mole Antonelliana), take relaxing walks surrounded by nature and history (Royal Gardens), and even experience a breathtaking view from the highest point in the city (Basilica of Superga). Of course, it’s all paired with food recommendations to help you savor the delicious flavors of traditional Piedmontese cuisine!!

Two days in Turin; summary of the days!

DAY 1: (From 08.30 A.M. to 06.00 P.M.)

- 08.30 AM - 09.00 AM: Departure from Porta Nuova train station and walk through Via Roma and reaching Piazza Castello.

- 09.00 AM - 10.00 AM: Entry to Palazzo Madama for one hour visit.

- 10.00 AM - 10.20 AM: Walk from Palazzo Madama to the bus stop "Po" for line 68 on Via Po.

- 10.20 AM - 10.45 AM: After about 17 minutes on the bus, get off at the "Sassi Superga" stop.

- 10.45 AM - 11.00 AM: Walk to the "Cremagliera" station and get your ticket at the ticket office!

- 11.00 AM - 11.20 AM: After about 18 minutes of going up, you'll arrive at Basilica of Superga

- 11.30 AM - 12.30 AM: Visit the Basilica and climb up to the Dome; it takes about an hour.

- 12.30 - 01.30 PM: For a lunch with a view of the city, I recommend booking a table at "Cheers Bistrot Superga". You can enjoy Piedmontese dishes, as well as great burgers or seafood dishes. (if it's spring/summer, ask for a table on the rooftop terrace, It's worth it, trust me!😉).

How to get there from Basilica of Superga!

- 01.40 PM - 02.00 PM: Walk back to the "Cremagliera" station and head down.

- 02.00 PM - 02.30 PM: Return down and going to "Sassi Superga" stop of bus line 68.

- 02.30 PM - 03.00 PM: After about 17 minutes on the bus, get off at the "Po" stop near Via Po'.

- 03.00 PM - 03.20 PM: Walk towards the Royal Museums in Piazza Castello.

- 03.30 PM - 05.30 PM: Spend about two hours visiting the Royal Museums.

- 05.30 PM - 06.00 PM: Walk back towards Porta Nuova train station to finish the first day.

DAY 2: (From 08.30 A.M. to 06.00 P.M.)

- 08.30 AM - 09.00 AM: Departure from Porta Nuova train station and walk through Via Lagrange and reaching Egyptian Museum.

- 09.00 AM - 11.00 AM: Visit Egyptian Museum and it's beautiful history in two hours.

- 11.00 AM - 11.30 AM: Walk from Egyptian Museum to Mole Antonelliana.

- 11.30 AM - 12.30 AM: Visit Mole Antonelliana! (Cinema Museum and climb up to the dome for an incredible view of the city).

- 12.30 AM - 12.45 AM: Walk from Mole Antonelliana to Piazza Vittorio.

- 12.45 AM - 01.45 PM: Lunch break in the largest arcaded square in Europe! There are so many places to choose from, depending on what you're in the mood for! You could try Origami (for some great sushi, phone number: 011 813 6864), Tabisca (for a delicious pizza, phone number 329 013 3409) or Renatino (if you're looking for a more filling meal, phone number 011 1971 5868). If you prefer something quicker, bars like "Caffè Elena" and "Caffè Cairoli" offer everything from a quick snack to a warm dish.

- 01.45 PM - 02.15 PM: Walk from Piazza Vittorio to Villa della Regina.

- 02.15 PM - 03.30 PM: Visit "Villa della Regina" (a 17th-century Turin villa and historic Savoy residence, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997) and its magnificent gardens, which also offer a stunning view of the city!

03.30 PM - 03.45 PM: Walk from Villa della Regina to City Sightseeing bus stop n.3.

- 03.45 PM - 04.45 PM: Panoramic tour on the City Sightseeing bus (Red Line) from Villa della Regina (stop 3) to Piazza Castello (stop 1). You'll enjoy a tour with an audio guide that will tell you all about the key highlights of Turin's city center and the streets you'll travel through! You can buy your bus ticket directly on the bus!

- 04.45 PM - 05.30 PM: Afternoon snack in Piazza Carignano. Piazza Carignano is one of the most iconic symbols of Baroque Turin, full of history and beauty. Here, you can find the "Bar Farmacia del Cambio", where you can try their unique brioches or other traditional sweets, or "Caffè Gelateria Pepino", where you can enjoy some delicious gelato and take a well-deserved break!

- 05.30 PM - 06.00 PM: Walk back towards Porta Nuova train station to finish the second day.
